Denver Tech Center
A 1962 office park that grew to about 900 acres along I-25 between I-225 and Arapahoe Road. About 15,000 planted trees fill the gaps between buildings, and at least one old office has been turned into apartments.

The Denver Tech Center, which nearly everyone calls the DTC, isn't a city or an official neighborhood. It's a business district along I-25 that runs from about I-225 south to Arapahoe Road (State Highway 88). Its pieces fall inside Denver and Greenwood Village, and Centennial picks up where it ends at Arapahoe Road.
Forty acres in 1962
The Tech Center was founded in 1962 on 40 acres, with George Wallace as one of the founders. His aim was to ease Denver's traffic and pollution problems. Wallace built out the east side of I-25 and John Madden the west side. In the early 1970s architect Carl Worthington drew a master plan that stretched the park from 40 acres to 850, and by 2023 it covered about 908.
Trees and buffers between the offices and the houses
Wallace planted roughly 15,000 trees across the DTC. He also set aside a strip of park between the offices and the houses to the east, extended south of Belleview Avenue in 1987, plus a second planted buffer along old Yosemite Street. If you're looking at a house along one of those edges, walk the buffer and see how much green actually sits between the back fence and the nearest office lot.
The DTC Identity Monument, built to look like the bare frame of a skyscraper, stands between I-25 and DTC Parkway in Greenwood Village.
Cable companies and 1980s office buildings
Around 35,000 people work here, across around 1,000 tenant companies. CableLabs, Charter, Comcast, United Launch Alliance and Zoom are among them. In 2023 the DTC's office vacancy was 16.7 percent, well under downtown Denver's 28.8.
Offices becoming apartments
The housing picture inside the office park is starting to move. Shea Properties began turning a 124,000-square-foot office building on South Monaco into apartments in May 2025, and Lofts on Monaco opened in mid-2026 with 143 rental units in an all-electric building. It's a rental, so if you want to own close to the offices, you'll mostly be shopping in the neighborhoods around the DTC rather than in it. Before you buy next to an older office campus, ask the city whether anything has been filed for it.
Shanahan's, pizza and Ambli
Shanahan's Steakhouse opened in December 2009 at 5085 S. Syracuse St., partly owned by former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, with his Lombardi trophies on display. The Wagyu rib-eye filet is the dish to order. It serves dinner every night.
For something more casual, Pizza Republica at 5375 Landmark Pl. bakes Neapolitan pizza in a wood-fired brick oven with mozzarella made in house. Ambli's DTC location, on the ground floor at Belleview Station, serves a globally inspired menu that borrows from Indian, Asian, East African and Latin American cooking.
Getting downtown
I-25 runs north through the middle of the district to downtown Denver, and I-225 meets it at the district's north end. The T-REX project built the light rail lines that connect the DTC to downtown, and they follow the I-25 corridor right through it.
